My name is Alaina Trout otherwise known as the Woolly Trout.
I live 35 miles north of Ludiington and 50 miles south of Traverse City in a lovely village called Onekama.
I have been a rug hooker since 1998 and started dyeing at almost the same time. Rug hooking has become a passion with me. I can't get enough of it and most of that comes out if we talk. In order to get the colors that I wanted I knew that I had to
dye many of them myself. Now my love of dyeing beautiful colors if almost as much fun as my rug hooking!
I love all the colors I see along the Lake Michigan shoreline. As my husband and I go to Florida for a while in the winter I get to see all the more tropical colors also. There for I think I have a well rounded group of wools.
Please look over the wools that I presently have for sale and also the ones I have previously sold. I will be changing these every so often and will be glad to reproduce them or attempt to match anything that you already have or would like.
I am the Co-Director of the Manistee Rug School in Onekama and we have a wonderful School that has been going for 17 years. Please like us on Facebook. Our rug group meets most Thursdays at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Onekama. Please call or e-mail if you will be in the area and would like to attend.
Thank you for visiting my web site.
